In the 1960s, New York Cotton Exchange stopped the practice of transmitting cotton rates to Bombay Cotton Exchange. Hence, the peeps were forced to explore alternative techniques to keep the matka business alive that helped to put infrastructure for modern day matka games. Kalyanji Bhagat began Worli matka in 1962. Later in 1964, with slight modifications to rules of Worli Matka, Rattan Khatri introduced New Worli Matka to matka world.
